Travel throughout two of Europe’s most exciting cities on our multi-country summer abroad program! There are many reasons to study on our City Expeditions: London & Barcelona program, but here are a few of the key highlights that make this program unique.
Since City Expeditions: London and Barcelona is a true travel-study course, a great deal of your academics will be mixed with trips around the various locations in which you will be studying. In London, your classes will include many excursions in and around the big city as part of your schooling. On the second half of the program in Spain, there will be plenty to see and do in and around the city of Barcelona, either as part of your program, or on your own in your free time.
Other Possible Activities include:
While you're studying in London you'll be living at one of Roehampton University's residence halls. Each hall is its own social hub. This way, you can have all of the luxuries of a traditional campus environment while enjoying a small, tight-knit community that makes it easy to get to know your British and international classmates. The residence halls offer self-catered single-occupancy accommodation with common kitchen facilities, furnished rooms, and comfortable lounges. Many halls are near cafeterias, coffee and snack bars, and shops.
As for your month in Barcelona, you will begin by staying in a hotel for the first two days for your weekend-long welcome orientation. Then you will be staying in an apartment shared with other students. The apartments are located off-campus in the city of Barcelona, just a 25 minute commute to classes. They are fully furnished apartments with a shared living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and bathrooms. Two students will share a room and there will be up to six students in each apartment. Due to the central location of the apartments within the city, students will have the opportunity to experience life living in Barcelona. They will be near shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, museums, and will have the chance to learn more about the culture through the people they meet and the roommates they will live with.
Courses include art and art history, business, cultural studies, history, humanities, social sciences, and Spanish language and literature.
