This altitude means that cloud moisture is captured by the trees, making the area extremely humid. But the amazing biodiversity in this cloud forest is well worth the humidity! You can get a bird’s eye view of native flora and fauna from skywalks and bridges suspended 60 meters up in the canopy.

Tamarindo Check out the beaches of Tamarindo Bay on the Pacific Coast to relax in the sun, surf, swim, sail, kayak, jet skiing, and horseback ride. You can also see Leatherback Turtle reserves. Tamarindo is a fun and laid-back town to visit, perfect for a break in schoolwork!

Poas Volcano This active volcano has two enormous lake-filled craters at its summit, and is surrounded by rainforest. This National Park is an incredible area of natural beauty.

Cataratas Cataratas del Toro is in the Bajos del Toro Amarillo Mountains. It’s a 300-foot waterfall that pours into an extinct volcano, making an incredible sight!

You will get to have the unique experience of living in the home of a local Costa Rican family! This is the perfect way to immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture. Most of the homes are located within walking distance on the university, and public transportation is easy to access.

You’ll enjoy the privacy of having your own room, furnished with towels, bed linens, blankets, and pillows provided by your host family. Additionally, you have access to the kitchen and a weekly laundry service. Delicious Costa Rican breakfasts and dinners are provided by your host family.
