Semester on the Gold Coast

Semester on the Gold Coast

Program Information

The Gold Coast is one of Australia's fastest- growing cities, known for its beautiful beaches, sporting events, and outdoor activities. And, the city is located near some of Australia's most valued treasures, including the Great Barrier Reef, inland mountains, and tropical rainforests. You’ll spend a semester studying abroad at Bond University, one of the most highly ranked and modern universities in Australia. The year-round tropical climate isn’t bad either! Bond University is unique among Australian universities in that its academic calendar aligns with the US university calendar. You will experience:

Small class sizes – The student to faculty ratio is 11:1. Amazing!

Cutting-edge courses – Bond University received 5 out of 5 stars in Australia’s Good Universities Guide for quality of teaching, making your decision to study on the Gold Coast one of the best for your degree. Courses use the newest technology, and professors think outside the box.

A surfer’s paradise – The Gold Coast has some of the best surfing in the world, and the weather is warm and sunny year-round.

Olympic-size pool and state-of-the-art gym on campus – The sports facilities on campus include these and more. You can even get a free consultation with a personal trainer.

Adventure Orientation – This stellar orientation in Australia will acquaint you with the local culture and get you accustomed to the Aussie way of life.

Housing

Semester on the Gold Coast has two fantastic housing options. You can live on campus with students from all over the world and enjoy the social activities organized in your dorm, or you can choose a more independent lifestyle by living off campus in an apartment just minutes away from campus!

Here are your options:

Students living in the on-campus residence hall will have a twin (shared) room that includes a bed, desk, chair, lights, phone, and bookshelves, with bed linens and blankets provided. They will share bathrooms with fellow students on the hall and will have access to free laundry facilities. A meal plan with 10 meals per week is included for students living on the campus. Students will need to bring/purchase their own towels and hangers.

The off-campus apartments are located a 5-10 minute walk from campus. The single room studio apartments are fully furnished and come with cutlery, crockery, cookware, air conditioning. The apartment complex provides coin-operated laundry facilities and a pool on site.

Both housing options include internet access, a telephone, access to the university's computer network (not the computer itself*), bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookshelves, and bedside table.

*You can bring your own laptop/notebook, but there is an initial setup fee as well as about a two-week wait for installation. Please note that you will have 24-hour access to the university computer labs, and that there are multiple wireless access points around campus.
